Lock 1 to Lock 9 on the Huddersfield Broad Canal

The conditions of the Huddersfield Broad Canal has not improved. The team will be attending this afternoon to dig the cills out at Lock 2 to see if the section can been refilled. We will update the notice on Monday with an update on the condition of the section.

We are having to close the Huddersfield Broad Canal due to vandalism of which the paddles have been wound up at Lock 2 entirely draining the pound. Lock 2 is a large pound and there is even less water than before to enable it to refill. The team are having to dig the head gates out that are stuck in the mud. This section will be closed for the rest of the week and we will update the notice on Friday 16th October at 4pm.
