Wed, Oct 7
There have been slight improvements in the water levels between Lock 8 and Lock 5, so it is recovering but very slowly. We will assess the situation again tomorrow.
Mon, Oct 5
The team have been closely monitoring the water levels over the weekend and it is showing that Lock 6 is still a foot down and Lock 5 pound is empty and unnavigable too. The gates were found to be open and have now been firmly shut. We ask that skippers of all crafts, please do not use the stated locks to allow the pounds to recover as the pounds from Lock 8 to Lock 7 are also recovering too. We will update the notice when the water levels have recovered.
Tue, Sep 29
On reviewing the water levels this morning after the evening locking of the gates. It has been decided to keep Lock 7 and Lock 8 padlocked for the day to allow water levels to recover further still overnight. The water levels are low and reopening the locks today would deplete water levels further, needing a longer period of time to recover. The team will be closely monitoring the water levels and we will re assess the situation tomorrow.
Conditions can change. Check local signage and the latest official notice before travelling.
