Lock 1 Huddersfield Broad - Gear Head Damaged, Paddle Up

We have access to a workboat on the Friday August 21st and we are looking to be able to carry out the repairs to the broken paddle at Lock 1 on the way through to carry out the repairs at Lock 2. We will update the notice on the works carried out and the outcome on Friday 21st August.

The local team are still reviewing the repairs to be carried out to Lock1 and this will reviewed later on in the week alongside the repairs to Lock 2. We will update the notice by Friday 7th August.

The gear mechanism is still broken and the paddle is stuck in the up position, indicating the lock still out of action. The local team are looking to review to see how this is to be repaired on Monday, so we are hoping to have further information to update the notice with on Monday 3rd August.

Operatives have attend to Lock 1 on the Huddersfield Broad and found that the gear mechanism has broken and the head paddle is stuck in the up position. It will remain out of use until a repair can be effected.

This notice will be updated as soon as we are able to reopen the lock for passage.
