Bridge 1B, Lyons Bridge to Lock 1, Poolstock Locks

The towpath remains closed between Bridge 1B (Lyons Bridge) and Lock 1 Poolstock Locks on the Leigh Branch of the Leeds & Liverpool Canal due to the partial collapse of a building owned by a third party.

Our teams are in contact with the local authority to establish ownership of the abandoned building. Once ownership has been established, arrangements can be made for the removal of debris from the area.

Navigation remains open, but please proceed through the area with caution, signage is in place for the short diversion. We would like to thank all our customers for their patience and understanding whilst our investigations continue.
