The towpath remains closed between Dutton Lock and Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge on the Weaver Navigation. The site is still under review by our engineering teams to determine the most appropriate repair solution.
A further update will be provided once a confirmed programme and timescale for the works is available.

Our teams have secured the funding needed for the planned towpath repairs, and our engineering specialists are continuing to assess the site to identify the most suitable and effective repair.

Due to the extent of the damage, our teams are now securing the necessary funding and working closely with our engineer specialists to finalise an appropriate method of repairing the footpath.

Please be advised the towpath between Dutton Lock and Sutton Weaver Swing Bridge on the Weaver Navigation remains closed due to structural failure of the embankment.
Due to the extent of the damage, funding and ongoing challenges, including severe weather causing more repairs to be undertaken across the region, this has required us to prioritise urgent repairs elsewhere.
Our local team and engineers will continue to work together on a method of repair to the embankment and an update will be issued once a timeframe for completing the works becomes available.
