The offside lock landing at Lock 68 on the Trent & Mersey Canal remains out of use due to masonry defects in the wash wall.

Due to the extent of the damage, along with ongoing funding and resource challenges, including severe weather causing additional repairs to be undertaken across the region, this has required us to prioritise urgent repair works elsewhere.

Our local team and engineers will continue to work together to develop a method of repair to the wash wall. A further update will be issued once a timeframe for completing the works becomes available.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and understanding.
